Cybersecurity Services Across the DC Metro

Envescent works from Arlington, Virginia and serves organizations across the Washington metropolitan area and well beyond it. Every engagement is delivered remotely: for clients in the DC metro, for clients elsewhere in the United States, and for clients in other countries. That is also the faster way to work. Nothing waits for someone to arrive, no travel time reaches the invoice, and the cost of the engagement reflects the work rather than the driving.

Nine cities have their own page below, each describing the local risks we run into, the work we deliver there, and the state rules that apply. Hourly rates are published in our service menu, and flat rates for a defined scope are quoted case by case.

Coverage is not a map exercise. A firm in Bethesda gets the same people and the same rates as one in Arlington; what changes is the local risk picture and the state rules that apply.

Where we work

The list stops at nine cities on purpose. A page for every jurisdiction in the region would describe coverage we cannot support with local detail; outside those nine we work with clients across the United States and in other countries, on the same terms.

  • Alexandria, VA: independent city where law practices, associations, and waterfront hospitality carry client and member data with little or no security staff.
  • Fairfax, VA: Fairfax City and the county around it, home to government contractors working with controlled unclassified information and to technology firms near George Mason University.
  • Falls Church, VA: a small independent city ringed by Fairfax County, with medical practices, accounting firms, and insurance offices on and around Broad Street.
  • McLean, VA: corporate headquarters, law firms, defense contractors, and family offices in McLean proper and Tysons.
  • Great Falls, VA: large-lot residential properties in Fairfax County where the business runs from a home office or a small practice.
  • Vienna, VA: the Town of Vienna and its Church Street and Maple Avenue business districts, mostly firms of five to fifty people.
  • Washington, DC: law firms, trade associations, nonprofits, and contractors concentrated downtown, in Georgetown, on Capitol Hill, and at Navy Yard.
  • Bethesda, MD: healthcare practices and business associates in Montgomery County, plus law firms and wealth managers around Bethesda Row.
  • Potomac, MD: family offices, professional practices, and home offices in Potomac Village and the surrounding Montgomery County neighborhoods.

What we deliver across the DC metro

The work is the same in every city; what changes is the industry mix and the rules that apply.

  • Cybersecurity assessments covering devices, servers and cloud, network, physical access, and how staff handle credentials.
  • Incident response with containment, evidence preservation, and a written report your counsel and insurer can use.
  • Compliance and gap analysis for NIST, HIPAA, PCI DSS, and ISO/IEC 27001.
  • Penetration testing of web applications, cloud environments, and networks, with exploit evidence and fixes ranked by risk.
  • Cloud engineering for identity, logging, backup, and recovery on Microsoft 365, AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud.
  • Training on phishing, social engineering, and secure handling of client data, delivered live online.
  • AI security assessments for assistants and copilots that read your documents or act on your systems.

Every engagement is scoped in writing before it starts: the systems in scope, the hours we expect, and the deliverable, whether that is an assessment report, a remediation plan, an incident report, or a training session. There is no required monthly managed-services contract.

Records and notification are part of the same work. Virginia, Maryland, and the District each set their own triggers and recipients, and a breach that crosses the Potomac usually triggers more than one. We document what happened and when, and your counsel decides what gets filed.

How we deliver

Engagements run remotely: video calls for interviews and walkthroughs, secure remote sessions for configuration review, and read-only access to the systems in scope where you prefer we look directly. Log review, cloud configuration, policy drafting, monitoring, and reporting all work that way, which keeps the cost down and lets the work happen outside your business day. Less scheduling overhead on both sides, and a bill that reflects the work instead of the travel.

An incident follows the same model. Call 703-486-0200 and we triage first, then direct containment and evidence preservation step by step while we work the analysis.

Remote delivery is also why these nine pages are not the limit of our coverage. Organizations outside the DC metro, across the United States, and in other countries work with us the same way, on the same published rates.
